My Role

Brand Designer
Flare is an all-day lifestyle destination blending dining, entertainment, and community. We reimagined this experience with a cohesive brand and a seamless app, serving as a pilot platform for future expansion. As the design lead, I managed tasks, conducted brand vision interviews, and ran co-creation workshops. I designed key app features like group reservations and shared payments and created brand guidelines for a unified experience. The project delivered a personalized app that reduced the frontline workload by 40%.
Client : F&B and entertainment industry
Duration : 90 days
TA :
• Day: Casual diners seeking relaxed gatherings
• Night: Social crowd drawn to music & drinks
Scope : Designed a scalable digital product ecosystem and brand experience to support the launch and future expansion of Flare’s restaurant group.
I interviewed the restaurant owner to define the vision for this full-day dining experience, from calm brunches to energetic nightlife—and aligned with team managers to understand operations. These insights shaped a clear, unified design direction.
Aimed to create a full-day dining space in Taipei with a seamless, multisensory experience that connects physical and digital, blending food, entertainment, and social interaction.
Front-of-house manager
Needed a system to simplify bookings and event ticketing, lowering manual workload and reducing service issues.
Back-of-house operator
Looked for a tech solution to automate liquor tracking and reduce reliance on manual stock management.
Partnered with the founder and stakeholders to define a lifestyle brand and uncover real user and operational pain points.
Co-Created Service Models
Led collaborative workshops to turn insights into a new business model blending dining, entertainment, and social interaction.
Designed Experience
Mapped the full journey from online booking to in-person service, ensuring a smooth connection across digital and physical touchpoints.
Delivered Brand & Product
Built a cohesive brand system and launched a multifunctional app that streamlined service and reduced front desk workload.
This project was a race against time. With just three months and a lean team, I assigned tasks according to each designer’s strengths and led key efforts, from aligning with the founder’s vision to running co-creation workshops.
We delivered a comprehensive digital ecosystem, including a website, social app, backend system, and full brand identity, while also preparing staff to utilize it all before launch.
What is the biggest challenge: Balancing speed, quality, and operational readiness under pressure.
We interviewed over 10 target users from daytime dining and nighttime party scenes, identifying 4 key personas based on behaviors and pain points. Two co-creation workshops validated these findings by mapping the user journey.
A key insight: users act as social organizers for gatherings but struggle with coordination and logistics pressures.
Flare blends the vibrant energy of a tropical city oasis by day with the shimmering glow of nightlife. Built around a foodie-driven community, the app boosts user engagement while offering key features like table reservations, pre-ordering, and event ticketing, seamlessly bridging the digital experience with real-world dining at Flare restaurants.
We collaborated with the client to develop a dual-mode brand identity—daytime and nighttime—that aligns with their vision and target audience.
The system included brand keywords, slogans, and multi-sensory elements across taste, sound, and visuals, along with cohesive guidelines, materials, and print assets to ensure a seamless, immersive experience at every touchpoint.
